Ólafur Ómarsson is a modern industrial designer who has a rich focus on design research and on user interaction with objects. Ómarsson has years of experience working in the field of product design. In 2005 he co founded the multidisciplinary design studio FRONT in Reykjavik, Iceland. Then in the summer of 2006 he joined Studio Bility an award winning design studio working on projects that many have received critical acclaim.

It is Ómarsson's believe that the product design profession is in a constant changing climate, for the product designer too continue staying relevant in product design process he has to have the ability to adapt and have the modesty of putting the focus on the user instead of the object. With continuing added pressure to deliver successful marketable products the requirement from the designer is to create an innovative product that should fascinate the end user. To be successful he has to study the user with meaningful methods to get access to innovation that can derive from user inquires, let alone get the grounding and restriction the designer needs for an effective design solution. Though relying heavily on user input the designer should embrace his passion and vision as that can give the product its uniqueness that can set it apart on the market.
